We would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2024 Westwood Golf Club Championship. We had two days of great weather that set the tone for a great tournament. The course played challenging yet fair thanks to the grounds crew. Greens were rolling well with the sun shining down on them. Sunday’s match play event had some of the closest matches we’ve seen here at Westwood. Rob McConathey and Scott Maulo had a close match with a remarkable 9 birdies between the two of them. Rob found himself up one after nine and held the match out to win 2 up with one to play. Congratulations Rob!
The Men’s semi final matches were both decided on 18. Josh Hahn and Luis Diaz were hitting drives further than most have seen here at Westwood. Josh held off Luis in a grudge match and moved on to the finals with a two putt on 18. Alex Kluka and Matt Barycki’s match didn’t extend further than one up for either player. Matt snuck his second shot on 18 to a few inches for a birdie that was the only way to stop Alex and his arsenal of great shots.
Josh teed off against Matt and started on a run that he never looked back from. Josh went up one, two, three, and finally four to take home the title of Club Champion for an amazing 3 times in 4 years.
