Stars & Stripes Par 3 Tournament
I would like to thank everyone who participated in Westwood’s First Annual Stars and Stripes Par 3 Tournament. We were very lucky to have gorgeous weather that morning! It was sunny, breezy, and prime for golf. Every participant gave such positive feedback for the par 3 format. Not having to hit the driver really eased the stress of the game, and we had 4 shots stop within 1 foot of the flag! Our closest shot landed an amazing 7 inches away. After the round we had great food prepared by our Westwood Bar staff, followed by 18 closest to the pin prizes. It was great to see everyone stay for the excitement of the giveaways. We hope that everyone’s 4th of July celebrations were as fun as ours. See you at the Second Annual Stars and Stripes Par 3 Tournament in 2025!
-Matt Barycki, Director of Golf

We appreciate all the positive feedback and look forward to St. Patty’s 2025!

Westwood Welcomes New Superintendent
3/19/2021
The Spring/Summer golf season is upon us and we are just as thrilled as you for sunny skies and warm temperatures. We are aware that our course conditions were less than favorable last season and want to assure you that we’ve been working hard on course updates and improvements as well as one BIG change… It is with much excitement that we announce our new Golf Course Superintendent, Justin Rieth! Justin wanted to share a message with you:
“I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the golfers of Westwood Golf Club. I am a proud graduate of Penn State University where I studied Turfgrass Science. For the past 15 years I was the Golf Course Superintendent at Northampton Valley Country Club in Richboro, PA. Previously, I was the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Doylestown Country Club and Jericho National Golf Club. I am excited to lead the Greens Department here at Westwood and am eager to showcase our talents to revitalize and improve this outstanding layout. Some of the areas we will focus on is re-defining all fine turf areas, bunker renovations, maintaining greens speeds that are true and fast, and adding attractive course accessories as well as implementing state of the art maintenance practices. All in which will separate Westwood from other area golf courses. Our goal is to maintain consistency in all areas of the course. I will be updating our website daily with Current Course Conditions and will inform you of projects that are underway in the Turf Talk section. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me or stop by the maintenance facility. I look forward to meeting all of you out on the golf course!”.
All of us at Westwood are very excited to have Justin on our team! With that being said, we’re confident that our playing conditions this season will be the best yet and only get better in the years to come! Here’s to a great 2021 golf season! See you on the course!

Course Reopening 1/22
1/22/2021
On Monday 1/18 the decision was made to close Westwood out of an abundance of caution. After receiving negative test results from our staff we will be reopening the golf course on Friday, 1/22. During our time closed we vigorously cleaned and disinfected our clubhouse to ensure the health and safety of all.
Since the Coronavirus pandemic began the health and safety of our golfers and staff has been our number one priority. We have been and will continue to follow the recommended precautions as outlined by the CDC and State of New Jersey. This includes remaining vigilant about social distancing, continuing to supply cart wipes and hand sanitizer throughout our facility, and cleaning and disinfecting each cart after use, as well as frequently touched surfaces.
We thank you for your understanding and support and can’t wait to see you out on the course soon!!!
Important Update!
1/18/2021
At Westwood Golf Club, the health and safety of our golfers and staff is always our top priority. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began we’ve had a plan in place that focuses on sanitation, safety and communication, as outlined by the CDC and the State of New Jersey. We continue to follow these procedures which include remaining vigilant about social distancing, providing cart wipes and hand sanitizer throughout our facility, and cleaning and disinfecting each cart after use, as well as frequently touched surfaces.
Today we were informed that one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19. The employee last worked on January 7th and had no contact with customers. Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing Westwood down until further notice. We will continue to monitor our team closely and communicate where needed to ensure the safety of our golfers and employees.
We plan to reopen in a few days when we have the appropriate staff. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
Stay safe and healthy!

Conditions & Course Care
9/14/2020
I hope this message finds you safe and well. First and foremost, thank you for being a loyal customer of Westwood Golf Club. 2020 has been a challenging year to say the least, with usual weather hurdles and learning to navigate a new normal due to COVID-19 and the guidelines put in place.
We appreciate the recent input you’ve given through online reviews and suggestions, and we apologize for the tough conditions right now coming out of the hot season. The weather has been increasingly more extreme in recent years and this year was no different, but rest assured we are making every effort to not only rehab some of the stressed areas but also improve the course as a whole. Below are some of the projects that we are currently working on or have already been completed:
- Upgrading our fairway mower, greens mower and rough mower.
- Re-sodding tees 4, 2, 7 and 6, along with 7 fairway in new Bermuda grass. This grass is more tolerant and should correct these over stressed areas.
- Acquired a new efficient fairway/rough aerator. This will significantly improve the turf on the fairways as we over seed in the fall.
- Reviewing solutions for Hole 7 green problem area. We are hoping to add drainage that will improve and hopefully correct this green.
- Invested in a new fleet of utility vehicles.
On another note: It is extremely important to remember that EVERY customer at Westwood has a responsibility to do their part in taking care of the course while playing. This is crucial any time of the year and now especially as we approach the fall growing season. Please read the following points and make sure to address them EVERY time you’re on the golf course and encourage your playing partners to do the same.
- FIX YOUR BALL MARKS AND ANY OTHERS YOU SEE.
- RAKE THE TRAPS
- FIX DIVOTS AFTER HITTING
- PICK UP TRASH THAT IS VISIBLE OR MAY HAVE FALLEN OUT OF A CART
- DO NOT DRAG SHOES ACROSS THE GREENS
- FOLLOW ALL SIGNS AND ROPED OFF AREAS. The ropes are there for the safety of our customers and the health of our golf course. Please do not disregard this due to being lazy.
- PICK UP ALL USED AND BROKEN TEES. There are new green receptacles next the tee to put used tees in.
Please be proactive about these items and it will make everyone’s time on the course more enjoyable. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you out at Westwood!
Sincerely,
Westwood Management
Update
7/2/2020
Please note that we cannot guarantee single rider carts at this time. If you have any questions regarding this topic, contact the Pro Shop PRIOR to your arrival at Westwood. 856-845-2000.
We continue to do our part and remain vigilant about social distancing and sanitization and ask that our golfers do the same. Please wear a mask when entering the Pro Shop and remove ALL trash from your cart following your round! Thank you! Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you at Westwood!
Golf Restrictions Lifted!
6/25/20
On Friday, 6/12/20, Governor Murphy released Executive Order No. 153, effective immediately, removing all golf related restrictions imposed since the beginning of the COVID-19 State of Emergency. This is great news!! As we at Westwood continue to navigate back to “normal” we want to remind our golfers of a few very important things:
- GOLF CARTS: Please note that due to high demand of carts, and low supply, we ask that if you would like a single rider cart, you book and pay for 2 tee times in advance. However, we continue to encourage walking. We will not be allowing any “ride alongs”, aka non-golfers. While we understand that everyone wants to get out of the house, it is a safety concern, and the health and safety of our golfers and staff remains our number one priority.
- DRESS CODE: Golf shirt and golf pants/shorts are REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES. NO JEANS. NO TEE SHIRTS. NO TANK TOPS. NO BASKETBALL SHORTS. This will be strictly enforced.
- NO COOLERS OR OUTSIDE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED. Our snack stand is open everyday with beer, alcohol and snacks for purchase.
- PACE OF PLAY: Simply put, slow play will not be tolerated. In the interest of all golfers, please play “Ready Golf” and maintain your position on the course by keeping up with the group in front of you. Groups falling behind will be asked to pick up the pace or skip a hole. If any group does not return to an appropriate position on the course within a reasonable amount of time, you may be asked to leave course without refund. ALSO, do not play through any groups as it will slow the entire course.
The health and safety of our golfers and staff is ALWAYS our TOP priority. In addition to providing cart wipes outside of the ProShop and hand sanitizer throughout our facility, our staff thoroughly cleans and disinfects each cart after use, as well as frequently touched surfaces. Although golf related restrictions have been lifted, we continue to do our part and remain vigilant about social distancing and sanitization and ask that our golfers do the same. When your round is finished, remove ALL trash from your golf cart, and please continue to follow the guidelines of the CDC and State of New Jersey.
Once again, thank you for your loyalty and understanding! See you on the golf course!!!

It is important to remember that Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a very fluid situation, with new updates happening quickly. We will continue to monitor developments from our state and local governments and as things continue to evolve, we will let you know.
Also, please always remember to always follow the CDC’s main guidelines for the public:
STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK

COVID-19 Update
3/16/20
In light of new guidelines outlined today by the State of New Jersey, Westwood Golf Club will be making necessary changes to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Your support and cooperation will be very much appreciated by your fellow golfers, friends, family and our staff.
Our restaurant will be closed until further notice. This obviously comes at a time when we were ecstatic to open our beautiful new restaurant for our golfers and community to enjoy. It is our hope that this situation will be temporary, and as things continue to evolve, we will let you know.
Our golf course will remain open for play. We are fortunate to have 119 acres of fresh air and want to reiterate that the golf course is an open and safe place to be. However, there are some guidelines that we’re asking all golfers to adhere to:
If you are sick or not feeling well, PLEASE STAY HOME. The golf course isn’t going anywhere.
We’ve provided cleansing wipes outside of the Pro Shop for your use, but it is suggested that all golfers bring their own hand sanitizer for use while golfing.
Use social distancing (stay at least 6 feet away from others) as much as possible.
Please leave the flagstick in the cup, do not pick up other golfers clubs, and forgo the handshake at the end of the round.
Clean out your trash from the golf cart when you finish your round!!!
WASH YOUR HANDS! THOROUGHLY AND OFTEN!
We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting door handles, toilets, faucets and sinks throughout Westwood. Our staff will continue cleaning and disinfecting the steering wheels, seats, and handrails of golf carts after each use.
The safety and well-being of our employees, golfers, and guests is always our TOP priority. We will continue to monitor developments from our state and local governments and want everyone to feel comfortable with knowing that Westwood is a safe and welcoming place to visit and enjoy.
